CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Thiago Monteiro Paiva is a clinical psychologist with a bachelor's and master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology, specializing in Integrative Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Lisbon. His work stems from a commitment to cultivating therapeutic spaces based on acceptance, compassion, and openness.
She has developed a personal and professional journey in different European countries, experiences that have broadened her clinical and human perspective on diversity, identity, and multiple ways of being. Throughout her career, she has worked in various clinical settings with adults, combining individual therapy with the facilitation of therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
Wanting to better help the people she works with, she pursued postgraduate studies in Third Generation Therapies (based on mindfulness, ACT, CFT) and in Affirmative Psychosocial Intervention with LGBTQ+ people. She also trained in DBT, as well as in addressing diverse issues and populations, such as challenges in experiencing sexuality and the specific needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, specialized assessment and intervention in ADHD, addictive behaviors including alcoholism, new psychoactive substances and their sexualized use (chemsex), and integrative cognitive therapy for bipolar disorder.
She is currently completing Advanced Training that confers the degree of Psychotherapist from APTCCI and training in Mindfulness for Psychedelic Therapy. She views the therapeutic process as an encounter that calls upon life, both of the patient and the therapist.
